This has been a long time coming, but finally, it is here. In June 2023, the Indian aviation regulator gave the go ahead to Vistara to launch flights to Bali. However, it took some time getting permissions on the other end, but now they are ready to launch the flight.
Vistara announces daily flights between Delhi and Bali on December 1, 2023.
For the longest time, it was not possible for Vistara or any other Indian carrier to make the trip to Bali because of the lack of appropriate equipment. A flight between Delhi and Bali is 3611 miles, slightly out of the range of the normal A321neo. Vistara started to receive their A321neo LR variants aircraft earlier in 2023, which has a higher Maximum Take Off Weight, and hence can carry more fuel (hence longer range).
Vistara was the first airline in India to take the LR variant of the A321neo, and it has already announced flights between Delhi and Hong Kong with these aircraft.
Now, Vistara has announced daily non-stop flights between Delhi and Bali, starting December 1, 2023. This makes Vistara the only airline offering direct connectivity between the two cities currently. Vistara will be deploying its A321LR aircraft, with a three-class configuration, giving customers the option to fly in Business, Premium Economy, or Economy cabins when travelling on the route.
Commenting on the introduction of the new destination, Mr. Vinod Kannan, Chief Executive Officer, Vistara said,
India is the second-largest source of foreign tourists to Bali, and with hassle-free visa-on-arrival , Bali remains one of the preferred holiday destinations for Indians, besides being popular for MICE traffic. Additionally, as the second largest trading destination for India in the ASEAN region, Indonesia exhibits great potential for business travel as well. We are delighted to be the only airline offering direct connectivity between Dehi and Bali. We are confident that customers will appreciate having the option to travel on India’s finest full service airline on the route.
Flights from Delhi to Bali will depart at Zero Dark Thirty (00:30 hours) every night, arriving in Bali at about 11 hours, just the right time to go to your hotel and check-in. On the return, one can take off from Bali at 12:10 hours and land in Delhi at 17:45 hours.
Bottomline
Vistara is venturing into new territory with the launch of their flight between Delhi and Bali, Indonesia. Vistara will become the first airline to connect the two stations on a non-stop basis. Vistara will launch daily flights between Delhi and Bali on December 1, 2023.
